Official LGFA Press Release

ZuCar confirms long-term extension of LGFA All-Ireland U-18 Championships sponsorship

ZuCar to also continue as the LGFA’s Official Performance partner until 2029

THE Ladies Gaelic Football Association is delighted to confirm that ZuCar will continue to sponsor the All-Ireland U-18 Football Championships until 2029.

ZuCar will also remain as the LGFA’s Official Performance Partner and oversee the prestigious annual ZuCar Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards, which reward individual excellence during the TG4 All-Ireland Championships.

In July 2021, ZuCar were unveiled as the LGFA’s new and official Performance Partner, before the relationship was extended in 2022 to include sponsorship of the All-Ireland U-18 Championships.

Confirmation of this renewal comes at a perfect time as 12 counties prepare for the 2026 ZuCar All-Ireland U-18 semi-finals, to be played on Wednesday/Thursday July 8/9.

The finals in the A, B and C grades will be played on Saturday, July 25, and all three games will be available to view free-to-air via livestreams.

In the semi-finals next week, the action will commence on Wednesday July 8 with clashes in the C grade, as Armagh play Leitrim while Limerick take on Longford.

Attention switches to the A and B grades on Thursday July 9, as Tyrone face Sligo and Kerry pit their wits against Laois in the B semi-finals, while Down take on Roscommon and Cork will play Dublin in the last-four A clashes.

Full fixture and ticketing details for those games is available here.

In the TG4 All-Ireland Championships, the race for the titles has reached the knockout stages.

The ZuCar Golden Boot will be awarded to the leading scorer across the TG4 All-Ireland Junior, Intermediate and Senior Championships, with Antrim’s Maria O’Neill currently leading the way with a running total of 8-11 (35 points), which is two points clear of her nearest challenger, Derry’s Annie Ní Lochlainn (3-24 – 33 points).

The ZuCar Golden Glove winner will receive the award based on an example of goalkeeping excellence during the ongoing Championship campaign.

The 2025 ZuCar Golden Boot and Golden Glove winners respectively were Dublin’s Hannah Tyrrell and Roscommon’s Helena Cummins.

The LGFA and ZuCar continue to build on a partnership rooted in shared values of performance, community, and long-term development.

Ladies Gaelic Football is recognised as one of the fastest-growing female sports in Europe, with membership numbers growing on an annual basis and reach extending to women and girls across Ireland and around the world.

ZuCar, meanwhile, brings its own growth story as a nationwide brand - a nationwide brand that shares many core values and beliefs with the LGFA including drive, passion, continuous improvement, and dedication to excellence, with both organisations invested in developing people and providing long-term opportunities from within.

Joining Ladies Gaelic Football Association CEO Lyn Savage and Mr Gavin Hydes, Joe Duffy Group CEO on behalf of ZuCar, at a Croke Park photocall to celebrate this announcement were leading inter-county stars Anna-Rose Kennedy (Tipperary) and Sarah Dillon (Westmeath).

Ladies Gaelic Football Association President Trina Murray commented:"On behalf of the LGFA, I want to sincerely thank ZuCar for their continued and renewed commitment to our Association. Since first coming on board as our Performance Partner, ZuCar have been true partners in every sense - supporting our players, our clubs, and our communities right across the country, while also backing the next generation of talent through their sponsorship of our All-Ireland U-18 Championships.

“To now see both of these partnerships renewed is a hugely positive statement, not just for the LGFA, but for the standing of Ladies Gaelic Football as a whole.

“ZuCar have consistently shown that they understand and value what we're building, from grassroots right through to our biggest days at Croke Park. This renewal allows us to build on the strong foundations we've already laid together, and I have no doubt that this continued partnership will help us drive our sport forward in the years ahead. We're delighted to keep this journey going."

Speaking on behalf of ZuCar, Joe Duffy Group Chief Executive Gavin Hydes said: “We're delighted to renew our partnership with the LGFA and continue supporting the growth of Ladies Gaelic Football across Ireland. Over the past number of years, we've seen first-hand the positive impact the LGFA has in communities nationwide, and we're proud to continue playing our part in that journey.

“At ZuCar, we share the LGFA's values of hard work, dedication, and continuous performance. Whether it's helping customers enjoy a simpler, more transparent way to buy and sell their cars or supporting players, coaches and volunteers who give so much to the game, we believe in making a positive difference in the communities we serve.

“We're excited to build on everything we've achieved together so far and look forward to strengthening this partnership as we continue supporting the LGFA and its members for years to come.”
