Tourneo Custom is available with an impressive list of smart, driver assist features including a Blind Spot Information System that sees the vehicles you might miss. Intelligent Speed Assist uses the Traffic Sign Recognition camera to first detect the current speed limit (when activated) then helps to keep you inside that limit.
Cross Traffic Alert warns you if it detects oncoming traffic when you’re reversing out of a space. And Adaptive Cruise Control is designed to help you maintain a pre-set distance from the vehicle in front, automatically.
The best of both worlds
The Tourneo Custom Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) utilises two separate power sources. A battery powered electric motor drives the vehicle, while its 1.0L Ford EcoBoost petrol engine works to recharge the hybrid battery and extend the vehicle’s range. The driver can select between three available EV modes, including EV Now which allows you to drive with zero emissions on electric-only power, to a targeted range of 50 km. The PHEV battery can also be recharged using most AC network charging points.

With Tourneo Custom, you’ll enjoy an exceptional on-board experience wherever you sit. Flexible rear seats offer many possible seat/luggage configurations. And if you choose the L2 long wheelbase version, you’ll get even more luggage space. New, reversible 2nd row seats enable you to easily create a conference style seating arrangement. And depending on which model you choose, you’ll enjoy three separate seats on the 3rd row and/or individual seating on the 2nd row. As for comfort and convenience, premium fabrics and trims, more stowage options and carlike levels of craftsmanship ensure satisfying journeys for driver and passengers alike.

A system that can help protect pedestrians
Pre-Collision Assist detects slower vehicles in the road ahead, or pedestrians and vehicles that could cross your path, and warns you of their presence. If you don’t respond, the system automatically applies the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions effectively at speeds of up to 50 mph / 80 km/h (assuming normal road and vehicle conditions).
Effortless recharging
The Plug-in Hybrid can be charged anywhere you have access to the mains. And once fully charged, this can take you up to 33 miles (55 kilometres) using the electric motor alone (range may vary depending on the vehicle, weather conditions and driving behaviour). That’s enough to complete most short city trips without using any fuel. When you’re low on power, the engine not only extends the range, but helps recharge the battery too. The Tourneo also uses smart self-charging technology, such as regenerative braking, to send power back to the electric motor. Once sufficiently charged, you can switch back to electric only, helping you save money and reduce pollution.
Use less fuel with Auto Start-Stop
When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the headlights, air-conditioning, radio and the Ford SYNC system). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).
Twin sliding doors
For greater flexibility and easier access, there are sliding doors on both sides. Great care has gone into the design of the doors, with the sliding door track covered to conceal the mechanism, improve aerodynamic efficiency and help reduce noise. There are also premium quality running boards below the doors which are fitted as standard.
