Helping to keep you inside the speed limit
The Tourneo Connect now comes with Intelligent Speed Assist, designed to enhance your speed control and enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, the Traffic Sign Recognition camera automatically detects the current speed limit (when activated), then the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit.
SYNC 3. For an effortless hands-free experience
Ford SYNC 3 helps you to stay connected. You can control your phone, music and navigation with natural voice commands. Even send destinations from the FordPass app on your smartphone, straight to the SYNC 3 navigation. The system has an 8” colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive control. SYNC 3 can also connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and with AppLink, you can access some of your favourite smartphone apps.
A powerful and efficient new engine
State-of-the-art, turbo-charged Ford EcoBlue diesel engines deliver measurably improved efficiency, performance and refinement. Available as 75 PS and 100 PS versions, they are also more responsive and also quieter than ever before.
A system that can help protect pedestrians
Pre-Collision Assist detects vehicles and pedestrians in the road ahead. It can even detect pedestrians that may be about to cross the vehicle’s path. The system warns you if it detects a potential collision and if you don’t respond it will automatically apply the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions at speeds of up to 80km/h.
Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO)
HVO is based on waste oils, it’s a form of renewable paraffinic diesel fuel produced from a wide variety of raw materials including waste cooking oil using conventional oil refinement processes.
Also known as renewable diesel, Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil can be used in Ford vans in place of regular diesel, without any vehicle modifications. HVO gives transparent cold temperature start times versus regular diesel fuel. It can even be mixed with regular Diesel in your fuel tank, so no worries if there’s no HVO nearby.
Compared with conventional fossil fuels, HVO is a more environmentally friendly alternative that can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to pump diesel, particularly if made from recycled raw materials.
Flexible seating
An ingenious seating arrangement includes the Ford Fold Flat System to make it easy to arrange the inside of your car to carry passengers, luggage, bulky or long items, or a combination of them all.
In the 5-seat Tourneo Connect, the second row of seats are split 60/40. And with the backs folded flat, the whole seat can tumble forward to maximise the car’s luggage space.
In the 7-seat Grand Tourneo Connect, you get the Fold Flat System for even greater flexibility. With this ingenious system the second row of 60/40 split seats folds and tumbles forward into the footwell to give you a completely flat load-floor. The third row of 50/50 split seats folds flat as well.
Headlamps that turn on automatically when needed
The new slimmer automatic headlights incorporate powerful HID Xenon lamps and striking LED daytime running lights. An integrated sensor detects failing light at dusk, or when there’s a sudden change in light conditions. This triggers the automatic headlights to turn themselves on, which can make driving both easier and safer.
