FULL HYBRID EFFICIENCY image
FULL HYBRID EFFICIENCY

The Kuga Full Hybrid combines a highly efficient 2.5-litre Duratec petrol engine with a battery-powered electric motor. It also uses a Continuously Variable transmission to ensure a smooth, comfortable drive on every journey. The system recaptures energy usually lost while decelerating. The larger battery can store more power to further improve fuel economy and even drive short distances on electric power alone.

FLEXIBLE, ADAPTIVE REAR SEATING image
FLEXIBLE, ADAPTIVE REAR SEATING

The Ford Kuga’s dynamic interior design gives you the ultimate freedom to adapt to every journey. Need more boot-space for a big trip or prefer the luxury of extra leg-room in the back? The flexible rear seating slides forward or backward to suit your needs, increasing the rear storage capacity by 67-Litres when forward – so you’ll have no trouble packing anything you need.

5-STAR SAFETY image
5-STAR SAFETY

As proof of its outstanding ability to protect you and your passengers, the Kuga has earned a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP, the leading independent safety organisation in Europe. In their new Assisted Driving tests that took place over 2 weeks, Kuga came out ahead of the pack too with a ‘Good’ rating, showing high performance in all areas and a good balance between Driver Engagement and Vehicle Assistance with a robust Safety Backup.

HELPING YOU STAY IN YOUR LANE image

HELPING YOU STAY IN YOUR LANE

The Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Aid provides gentle steering torque assistance to help guide you back into your lane. If your wheel touches the line or edge of the road, Lane Keeping Alert vibrates the steering wheel and displays a visual warning. The technology automatically deactivates at speeds below 64 km/h, or can be turned off manually.

LET KUGA DO THE PARKING image

LET KUGA DO THE PARKING

Parking in a busy street or a tight space can be tricky. But with Enhanced Active Park Assist, the Ford Kuga makes it easier than ever. Available on models with automatic transmission, the system can identify a suitable parking space, and then automatically perform the entire parking and exit manoeuvres for you. Activated by holding the Active Park Assist button, there’s no need for you to steer or use the pedals – the car takes care of it all for you.

SPOTS THE ROAD SIGNS YOU MIGHT MISS image

SPOTS THE ROAD SIGNS YOU MIGHT MISS

Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. Icons for speed limits and no-overtaking signs are displayed on the instrument cluster, alerting you to changing restrictions.

SEE WHAT'S COMING FROM EITHER SIDE

A small panoramic camera on the front of the Kuga relays a split-screen image to your SYNC 3 display so you can see vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians coming from either side. This front wide-view camera is invaluable if you’re edging out of a narrow parking space, or in a busy road where your view is obstructed.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AT GLANCE image

IMPORTANT INFORMATION AT GLANCE

The head-up display projects key information into your field of vision, so you can keep your eyes on the road ahead. Compatible with polarised sunglasses, the clear, bright image can display your preferred choice of content – including vehicle speed, navigation, cruise control notifications and Traffic Sign Recognition data.

EXTRA CONTROL DURING HILL START image

EXTRA CONTROL DURING HILL START

Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

HELPING YOU MOVE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION image

HELPING YOU MOVE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

Wrong Way Alert uses a forward-facing camera and information from the navigation system to detect if you’re driving against the direction of traffic. The system delivers visual and audible warnings if you drive the wrong way so that you can stop and take the necessary action

EFFORTLESS CHARGING image

EFFORTLESS CHARGING

If you choose the Kuga Plug-in Hybrid, it comes with one standard cable for regular home charging. You can also order an optional cable for public charging stations.

To make charging at home as fast as possible, you can install a Ford Wallbox charging point at home as an optional accessory. Capable of charging your Kuga from 0–100% in under 3.5 hours, the Ford Wallbox offers much faster charging times than a conventional plug socket. We've teamed up with Bord Gáis Energy to offer approved home installation and competitive energy rates.

When you’re driving, a combination of regenerative braking and power drawn from the engine helps replenish the battery. Use the FordPass app on your phone to manage your charging. You can view the hybrid battery’s charge status and set preferred charging times to take advantage of lower, night time energy rates.

HELPING YOU DRIVE MORE EFFICIENTLY image

HELPING YOU DRIVE MORE EFFICIENTLY

A range of features can help you to save fuel and maximise the recharge rate of your hybrid battery. View your Journey Insights in the FordPass app to see data on your historical journeys, including Fuel Reports to help you stay on top of your spending. If you choose a Kuga Hybrid, then Brake Coach can tell you how to brake more efficiently to reduce your fuel consumption. EV Coach will help you improve how quickly the hybrid battery recharges with Regenerative Braking technology.

ADVANCED SELF-CHARGING TECHNOLOGY image

ADVANCED SELF-CHARGING TECHNOLOGY

In addition to connecting your Kuga Plug-In Hybrid to a charging point, the battery is also able to recharge itself. Regenerative braking captures some the energy that’s usually lost when you apply the brakes and then sends it back to the battery. The petrol engine sends power back to the hybrid battery too. This helps to constantly keep the battery topped up and maximise efficiency.

USE LESS FUEL WITH AUTO-START-STOP image

USE LESS FUEL WITH AUTO-START-STOP

When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine, while still supplying power to the essentials. When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic vehicle, and the system seamlessly restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10% (urban cycle).

TAME EVERY TERRAIN image

TAME EVERY TERRAIN

Wherever you’re driving, Kuga is built to maximise control. Choose from five drive modes, which fine-tune vehicle performance to suit the conditions. Select between: Normal, Sport, Wet/Slippery, Trail, or for maximum efficiency, Eco mode. The drive modes alter acceleration, steering and suspension, while also adjusting the traction and stability controls to provide optimum control in any setting.
