On Site Training
You will be mentored by a dedicated and experienced team member for the duration of your apprenticeship who will provide you with on-the-job training as well as dedicated internal training sessions from in-house trainers and experts in our state-of-the-art training facilities.
External Training
External training is provided by the industry's best training providers and no expense is spared when sourcing the best trainers for every aspect of the job.
Social Club
We have an extremely active social club with everything from nights out, to go-karting, football, running and golf clubs and you are free to join them all.
Employee Support
When you join the Group, you are automatically enrolled as a member of our VHI Employee Assistance Programme. This membership supports our team in many ways. Your VHI Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is here to help you cope with all of life’s ups and downs. This free, confidential service is available to you and your family members at any time, providing immediate access to fully qualified, accredited counsellors and information specialists. We are mindful of how mental health can affect every aspect of a young person’s life. We believe every young person must have the support that’s right for them, whatever they are going through. There is also a wellbeing portal that offers support and advise on a range of topics such as buying a house, finding a solicitor, nutrition, and exercise tips along with many great articles on how to improve your overall wellbeing.
Giving Back
Notwithstanding our business ambitions, we firmly believe that our long-term success is inextricably linked to being a good business citizen. As a successful company, we recognise our obligations and responsibilities, and from the highest levels of the Group, we are committed to fulfilling them. Each year we ask our team to nominate things that are important to them. Having achieved our benchmarks for 2022, 2023 will see us further improve our CSR activities. Breast Cancer Ireland is again one of our 2024 charity partners, and we are very proud to support them. This year will see us fund their Living Wall area in the new Breast Cancer Clinic at Beaumont Hospital. We have also partnered with Temple Street Children’s Hospital and will fund the refurbishment of the parents waiting and break out area in St Brigid’s ward. In addition to our existing community, workplace, and marketplace initiatives’, we will focus further efforts on enhancing employee engagement with further internal communications, internal marketing, and Human Resources programmes, including the further development of our Group Intranet as a key engagement portal. In 2023, over €100k was donated to over 30 charity and community organisations, mostly nominated, and led by employees. Also, 100 business partners were supported in their fundraising endeavours by donations and 20 local businesses, sports and community groups participated in some community activity supported financially by us. In 2021, we signed a 3-year community sponsorship of the LGFA as part of our ZuCar branding and community work.
