At Joe Duffy Motor Group, Ireland’s largest motor retail network, a Vehicle Spray Painter is responsible for restoring and refinishing vehicles to pristine manufacturer standards. Working within their advanced cosmetic repair centres and body shop, the role focuses on delivering flawless paint finishes on premium new, used, and customer vehicles. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 


  • Surface Preparation: Preparing body repairs for refinish, masking unpainted areas and priming surfaces to create a flawless foundation.
  • Paint Application: Expertly mixing, colour-matching, and applying primers, basecoats, and clearcoats using professional spray guns and water-based paint systems.
  • Quality Control: Conducting rigorous visual inspections to ensure the paint finish is even, free of imperfections, and perfectly blended with the rest of the vehicle.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining spray booths, extraction filters, mixing machinery, and spray guns to keep a clean, hazard-free workspace.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration: Working closely with the body shop team, while mentoring apprentices within the Joe Duffy Group.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven track record as an automotive spray painter, ideally handling premium brands in a high-volume dealership or a professional body shop environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient knowledge of modern vehicle refinish processes, computerised paint mixing systems, and water-based paint application.
  • Attributes: A sharp eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to hit workshop targets under pressure.
  • Licence: A full, clean EU driving licence is mandatory.
