A Vehicle Body Repairer is responsible for restoring accident-damaged cars and commercial vehicles back to their original factory condition. Working with Ireland's leading motor retailer, this role requires a high level of craftsmanship to service prestigious automotive brands while strictly adhering to manufacturer standards. 

The breakdown of the job description, core responsibilities, and requirements includes:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Panel Beating & Structural Repair: Realigning vehicle bodies, hammering out dents, shaping sheet metal, and replacing structural components or full panels (doors, hoods, fenders).
  • Welding & Fabrication: Performing precision welding and fabrication of part panels on a workbench before installing them onto the vehicle.
  • Surface Preparation: Preparing body panels for the painting phase by sanding, filling scratches with body filler, masking, and applying etch, filler, or surface primers.
  • Refinishing & Paint Finishing: Matching paint codes accurately, spray painting repaired surfaces, and polishing the final finish to ensure the vehicle looks as good as new.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintaining a clean, organised workspace and adhering to strict health, safety, and environmental guidelines.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Trade Qualification: A relevant automotive qualification, such as a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft in Vehicle Body Repairs (or international equivalent).
  • Technical Expertise: Proven hands-on experience in panel beating, structural vehicle alignment, welding, and vehicle spray painting.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently both independently and within a team environment.
  • Driving Licence: A valid, clean Irish or EU driving licence is essential for moving.
