M suspension.
The Adaptive M suspension* can be electronically adjusted at any time to suit the road and driving conditions. The driver can also adjust the suspension characteristics via the Driving Experience Control to enable their preferred driving style at the time – from comfortable to extremely athletic with markedly agile handling.

Variable sport steering.
The Variable sport steering with Servotronic creates a direct and agile steering response and ensures that less physical effort is required to turn the wheel. It reacts to the angle of the steering wheel with varying steering ratios. This improves handling when driving more dynamically and reduces the effort needed to steer when parking and turning.
Low centre of gravity.
The low centre of gravity promotes the vehicle's agility and steering precision, while at the same time ensuring high driving stability with reduced lateral inclination of the body. Thus, the sporty driving dynamics can be savoured intensively.
Bonnet and double kidney grille.
By virtue of its size and three-dimensional design, the double kidney grille in the centre of the front section visualises power and authority. It protrudes prominently from the bonnet, thus underlining the dynamic driving character. Above the BMW X4 kidney grille, precisely drawn contours lend the bonnet a similarly dynamic appearance
Adaptive LED headlights and air inlets
The adaptive LED headlights include low-beam and anti-dazzle high-beam headlights (BMW Selective Beam) and turn indicators with full LED technology. The equipment also features cornering lights, daytime running lights and Adaptive headlights with variable light control for excellent illumination of the road head and better visibility in the dark. The external air inlets give the front section an even more dynamic appearance, which is additionally reinforced by a special channel that separates the outer and central inlets from one another graphically.
BMW X4 wheel and wheel arche.
The wheel housings with their muscular flared design are further development of the previous square shape to produce a subtle hexagonal interpretation to underline the off-road character of the BMW X4. Additional eye-catchers are the 21" M light alloy wheels Double-spoke style 718 M in Bicolor Cerium Grey matt, bright turned. Only available for the BMW X4 M40i and the M40d.
The air breather behind the front wheel arches underscores the athletic character of the vehicle visually as decorative element.
