BMW Motorrad Remains at the Top in 2025

BMW Motorrad has delivered another powerhouse performance in 2025, surpassing 200,000 motorcycles sold globally for the fourth consecutive year.

A total of 202,563 motorcycles were delivered to customers worldwide, reinforcing BMW Motorrad’s position as a global leader in the premium motorcycle segment.

This result reflects one thing clearly: demand for BMW Motorrad remains exceptionally strong.

Performing Strongly in a Challenging Market

2025 was not an easy year for the motorcycle industry.

With global declines in the over-500cc segment, volatile market conditions, regulatory pressures, pricing competition and new customs rules, the landscape was anything but simple.

Yet BMW Motorrad delivered a solid result — and in many markets, a record-breaking one.

Italy, Spain, Japan, Australia, Portugal, Canada, Malaysia and the Netherlands all achieved their best-ever sales results.

December alone saw 15,109 motorcycles sold, making it the third-best December in BMW Motorrad history

Key international markets made major contributions to the overall success:

  • Brazil – 14,488 units
  • China – 10,555 units

Despite restrictions in some regions, BMW Motorrad continued to perform strongly across multiple continents.

Product Strength Drives Success

A major contributor to 2025’s performance was the strength and breadth of the model range.

New launches such as the BMW R 1300 RT, BMW R 1300 R, and BMW R 1300 RS were met with immediate enthusiasm.

The BMW R 1300 GS Adventure continued its strong performance, while the new BMW R 12 G/S, powered by its iconic air/oil-cooled boxer engine, exceeded expectations in its launch year.

  • BMW F 900 GS
  • Urban mobility also impressed, with the C 400 GT, C 400 X, and fully electric CE 04 and CE 02 achieving over 18,400 sales combined.

In the high-performance category, the S-series four-cylinder models delivered 20,859 units, rising to 28,408 units when including the BMW M 1000 R, BMW M 1000 RR and BMW M 1000 XR.

Looking Ahead to 2026

BMW Motorrad enters 2026 with confidence and momentum.

With the upcoming market launch of the BMW F 450 GS in spring and the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy taking place in Romania in autumn, the year ahead promises innovation, adventure and continued growth.

The objective remains clear: strengthen global leadership in the premium motorcycle segment and continue delivering motorcycles that inspire riders worldwide.
