BMW iX3 and the Start of a New Era 

Today is the start of a new era for BMW, one that we've been working towards for years. In 2021, at the IAA Mobility exhibition, we made a promise: to take BMW into the future with the NEUE KLASSE. Four years later, that vision is now a reality.

The NEUE KLASSE is more than a new model. It's an entire new generation of BMWs, a massive leap in design, technology, and sustainability that reshapes the potential of the car. And it couldn't have come at a better time. 

This transformation began with a simple idea: to redesign the car from the ground up. It meant taking advances in every way to technology, from battery life to computational power, from software intelligence to sustainable materials. What emerged is not a single innovation, but an entire new system, a complete rethinking of the BMW experience.

We’ve brought the world along this journey. The NEUE KLASSE, which stands for key ideas like circularity, digital innovation, immersive design, and improved driving dynamics, has shaped our path. From initial concepts to the exciting launch of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse Sedan and SAV, we've worked hard to turn our vision into reality.

Redesigning Design and Experience

The iX3 truly represents everything about the NEUE KLASSE. Every surface, every line, every detail has been chosen for a purpose, not only to improve aerodynamics and range but to create an updated, confident presence on the road. The famous BMW face is updated to  chrome yields to light, with vertically stacked kidney grilles and a new daytime running light signature that's recognisable anywhere.

Inside, the upgrade continues to shine through. The cabin is cleaner, more logical, and more driver-focused than ever before. At its heart is the new BMW Panoramic iDrive, elegantly projecting critical information across the windscreen. This, combined with our new steering wheel and free-standing central display, creates a complete new driving experience immersive, focused, and intuitively digital.

Personalisation is at the core of the iX3. My Modes enables drivers to easily set lighting, sound, screen content, and even performance settings, so every experience is uniquely their own. And our newly designed interior trims, such as the open and modern "Digital White", offer a warm, premium feel that reflects each driver's personal style.

Technology That Powers the Future

Beneath the skin, and across the design, the iX3 represents a giant step forward in BMW technology. With a range of over 800 kilometers (WLTP) and a maximum charging power of up to 400 kW, this car defies electric mobility expectations. It is able to cover over 370 km of range in ten minutes, eliminating range anxiety.

Behind the scenes, four high-performance central computers process data up to 20 times faster than previously, controlling everything from drivetrain to driver assistance. At the system's core is the "Heart of Joy", our digital control center for driving dynamics. It combines more than 100 years of BMW engineering with the latest software, providing that signature Sheer Driving Pleasure to every scenario.

Our newest digital ecosystem, BMW Symbiotic Drive, allows the vehicle to respond effortlessly to the driver, intelligent, adaptive, and always safe. The vehicle becomes less than a machine and more of a trusted companion.
