An important Aftersales Warranty update to all customers....


JLR has introduced a new section to their Global Warranty Manual - A1.54 - Vehicle Servicing

This new section includes details of a new servicing grace period of 1 month or 1,000 miles (1,600kms).

Why has this been introduced?

The Global Warranty Manual (“GWM”) states that owners have a responsibility to maintain their vehicle in accordance with Jaguar Land Rover’s (“JLR”) specified service intervals and that failure to do so will invalidate warranty coverage on parts affected. This information is also provided in the vehicle handbooks and i-Guides.

Historically no grace period for service intervals have been offered, but, in response to the COVID-19 situation, JLR introduced an extension to the service period in May 2020. All vehicles serviced within 3 months or 2,000 miles / 3,200kms (whichever is the sooner) of the service indicator were protected in full by the applicable warranty (the “COVID Grace Period”).

The COVID Grace Period was a temporary extension and as lockdown restrictions have lifted JLR have decided to introduce a permanent grace period of 1 month or 1,000 miles / 1,600 kms (whichever is the sooner).

In line with our Customer First Principles of Transparent and Easy to do Business With the Global Operations and Technical Service team have decided to introduce a new Vehicle Servicing section to the GWM which provides an overview of JLR vehicle servicing and details of the new grace period.


This new policy is included in the warranty manual, on TOPIx, and takes effect immediately.
