New Ford Transit Minibus

NEW TRANSIT MINIBUS

The Ford Transit Minibus is designed to transport up to 18 people in comfort and style. The Minibus is packed with useful technologies, including a power side door and multiple power outlets. And for the first time, a built-in FordPass Connect modem enables up to 4G Wi-Fi for you and your passengers, and live traffic updates sent directly to your navigation system.

Built for comfort and reliability, and designed to convey a sense of professionalism and quality. This is the Transit Minibus.

Durability and refinement

The New Transit Minibus is purpose-built for reliability and comfort. Available with up to 18 seats, you’ll never be short of space for passengers or their luggage. And durable materials ensure the minibus stays in top condition for longer. A power side load door and power step make getting in and out of the vehicle easier than ever. Whilst power sockets throughout the minibus help to keep devices charged up and ready to go for the whole journey.

Technology with purpose

Set your own pace with Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control. The system can identify the prevailing speed limit and automatically maintain your selected speed within the limit detected. Advanced radar technology scans for slower traffic in front of you, and can automatically adjust your speed to maintain a pre-set gap from the vehicle ahead. When the traffic has cleared, your vehicle will resume its pre-selected speed.

The New Transit Minibus is packed with advanced technologies designed to improve your experience every time you get behind the wheel. Selectable Drive Modes, including Normal, Slippery, Tow/Haul and the new EcoMode, enable you to alter performance to suit the task and conditions. There’s also an advanced Blind Spot Information System, front wide-view camera and rear camera, which all help improve your awareness on the road.

The power of choice

Featuring a range of advanced 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue diesel engines, the New Transit Minibus is more powerful and more efficient than ever. The NewTransit Minibus is available with a refined Heavy Duty Truck (HDT) engine to maximise performance. Offering up to 170PS with both manual and automatic transmission options you’re guaranteed to find the one that meets your specific needs. Whichever you choose, every engine meets the stringent Euro HDT6.0 emissions standards too.

Technology to help protect you and your passengers

The New Transit Minibus is packed with advanced technologies and smart systems designed to help improve safety and security. For example, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection monitors the road ahead and alerts you to any vehicles or pedestrians who could cross your path. If you don’t respond to the alert, the system can even apply the brakes automatically. Additionally, a sophisticated alarm helps to keep your Transit and its contents safe.

Sees what’s coming from either side

A tiny panoramic camera on the front of the vehicle relays a split-screen image to your Transit’s multi-function display so you can see vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians coming from either side. This front wide-view camera is invaluable if you’re edging out of a narrow parking space, or in a busy road where your view is obstructed.

Stress-free parking

Active Park Assist in the New Transit Minibus makes parking easier than ever. The system identifies a parking space that’s the right size and automatically steers you in or out, while you control the pedals and gears. This works for both perpendicular and parallel parking spots.

Front, rear and side parking distance sensors help you judge the distance between your vehicle and the obstacles around you. When the sensors detect an object, they activate a visual and audible warning that intensifies the closer you get to it.

Technology that sees what you can’t

The Blind Spot Information System uses RADAR sensors to see vehicles that may be hidden in your blind spot. When a vehicle enters your blind spot, the system alerts you with an orange light, clearly displayed in the side door mirror. Cross Traffic Alert works with Blind Spot Information System and alerts you to oncoming vehicles when you’re reversing out of a space and have limited visibility.

Spots the vehicles you might miss

Cross Traffic Alert is part of the new Blind Spot Information System. When you’re reversing out of a space and have limited visibility of the traffic situation, Cross Traffic Alert can detect oncoming vehicles and sound a warning. The technology illuminates a light in the wing mirror too (left or right depending on the direction of oncoming traffic), as well as displaying a warning on the multi-functional display.

An advanced system to help you stay in your lane

The Lane Keeping System uses a forward-looking camera to detect if you’re unintentionally drifting out of lane. Lane Keeping Aid provides gentle steering torque assistance to help guide you back into your lane. If your wheel touches the line or edge of the road, Lane Keeping Alert vibrates the steering wheel and displays a visual warning. The technology automatically deactivates at speeds below 43 mph (64 kph), or can be turned off manually.

Power-assisted steering that responds to every situation

Electric power-assisted steering provides varying amounts of assistance depending on vehicle speed. The system also helps to improve to improve fuel economy by using electric power instead of drawing power from the engine.

New LED daytime running lights for style and visibility

Highly energy efficient, these advanced daytime running lights provide a signature look that really sets new Transit apart: they’ll help get you noticed during the day and seen clearly at night. A useful night-driving aid, Auto High Beam temporarily dips your headlights when it detects oncoming traffic or a vehicle ahead, stopping you dazzling other drivers. It then automatically reverts back to high beam, giving you maximum visibility.

Extra control during hill starts

Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.

A 6-speed transmission saves on fuel

The New Transit Minibus is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, making it more economical and efficient. Once you reach a high enough speed, just slip your van into 6th gear and save on fuel while you’re cruising along. You’ll find the gear changes are smooth and quick too.

Use less fuel with Auto-Start-Stop

When you stop at traffic lights or your vehicle is idling in a queue, this technology can automatically switch off the engine (while still supplying power to essentials like the headlights, air-conditioning, radio and the Ford SYNC system). When you're ready to move, just depress the clutch and select first gear as usual, or press the accelerator on an automatic, and the system restarts. Auto-Start-Stop is particularly effective in town and city streets, where it can cut fuel consumption by up to 10%.

Go hands-free with SYNC 3

SYNC 3 is our most advanced version to date. It’s faster and easier to use, with enhanced voice commands and even more functionality. The new interface has larger buttons for improved usability, and the colour Touchscreen now features pinch-and-swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets for even more intuitive navigation. SYNC 3 also features AppLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, to display your smartphone’s information on the touchscreen.

Sit up to 18 people in comfort

The New Transit Minibus is available with up to 18 seats. And with reclining seat backs and armrests fitted as standard on the Trend and Limited series, your passengers can sit back, relax and enjoy the journey. The ergonomically designed driver’s seat includes optional armrest and lumbar support. It’s also heated and is 10-way electrically adjustable. So it’s easy to find your ideal driving position, or change it for different drivers.

More space for luggage

Overhead luggage racks are available to make the best use of the interior space. The luggage racks mean there are more storage options available to your passengers. LED reading lights come as standard and help to make long journeys through the night more comfortable.

Set different temperatures for you and your passenger

With Dual-Zone Electronic  Air Temperature Control you can select different temperatures for you in the front and your passengers in the rear.

Opening rear side windows

Premium-look tinted glass is fitted as standard and fourth-row passengers can enjoy the comfort and ventilation provided by an opening window in the side load door.

Wing mirrors that can protect themselves

To avoid accidental damage, power-foldable mirrors fold inwards when you’re parked. Tucked back, they also protect the stylish integrated indicators.

Keeping your trailer safely in line

Trailer Sway Control detects ‘snaking’ or trailer sway and reduces your vehicle’s speed to help solve the problem, making towing more controlled. The system slows the vehicle down by reducing the engine’s torque and gradually increasing the brake pressure on all wheels.

Driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags

Transit Minibus is available with curtain, driver, front passenger and side airbags. Advanced sensors are also positioned at key points in the vehicle to ensure a swift and controlled response. If you want your passenger airbag switched off, for example if a baby or toddler is travelling in a rear-facing seat, just flick a switch to deactivate it. To provide you with a useful reminder, this ‘off’ status is shown by a light in the instrument cluster.

Protecting and securing your Transit from thieves

A Thatcham Category 1 alarm is a sophisticated system that automatically arms itself when you double-lock the vehicle and will sound a powerful alarm if triggered by forced entry, the vehicle being lifted, or if the motion sensors pick up any movement inside. The technology is also designed to help prevent unwanted towing of the vehicle.

An early warning if a tyre is going flat

If any of your tyres starts to lose pressure during your journey, the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System warns you immediately if there’s a puncture by lighting up an icon on the instrument panel.
