We are long-term supporters and sponsors of Pieta House, Alone, JigSaw, St. Vincent de Paul and Breast Cancer Ireland.
As long-term supporters of Breast Cancer Ireland sponsoring Dancing with the Stars for many years, we were delighted to form “The Joe Duffy Shufflers” running Group, to take part in the virtual Great Pink Run in October 2020 to help raise much-needed funds for research during the pandemic.
Breast Cancer Ireland is a registered charity established to raise significant funding to support pioneering research programmes nationally as well as to promote education and awareness on the importance of breast health amongst women of all ages. One in nine women in Ireland are affected by breast cancer, and there are currently 3,100 case diagnoses annually. While survival rates are improving through screening and awareness campaigns, there is still a lot more to be achieved through dedicated and in-depth research.
Sadly, suicide affects most people in our communities and our teams. Our friends and families all know of someone who has been impacted in some way by the devastation it leaves behind. We have been a long-term and proud supporter of Pieta House.
Due to the pandemic many older people are experiencing loneliness or feeling isolated in their community. There has never been a bigger demand on the fantastic work of the charity Alone to look after the precious and much loved over 70’s in our communities’.
Mental health can affect every aspect of a young person’s life. Jigsaw believe every young person must have the support that’s right for them, whatever they are going through.
St. Vincent de Paul offer personal assistance that is non-judgemental and based on the need of the individual or family.
Like many charitable organisations during the crisis, they have experienced a huge increase in demand for help and at the same time due to the economic environment, have had a decline in donations. This is an incredibly challenging time for all of us, but particularly older people and for those who live alone, feel vulnerable, in financial difficulty or are suffering with mental health problems.
