Credit Underwriter – Joe Duffy Group

Due to continued growth within Joe Duffy Group, we are now recruiting for an experienced and professional Credit Underwriter to join our business in North Dublin.

The Credit Underwriter will be responsible for:
- Setting credit limits for corporate customers
- Annual review (or more frequently if required) of corporate credit limits
- Review of credit applications for corporate and personal customers within agreed turnaround times
- Presenting proposals to Credit Committee
- Maintaining up to date customer credit files
- Performing regular internal control testing
- Working with collection team to determine credit worthiness
- Supporting credit portfolio reporting & credit surveillance
- Performing sectoral review of obligors, determining “watchlist” industries
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant experience in credit risk/lending division of either leasing company or financial institution (between 3-5 years)
- Appropriate recognised professional or third level qualification
- QFA is desirable but must be an Approved Product Advisor
- Experience of credit underwriting for both corporate (SME) and personal customers, with good understanding of financial statements and repayment capacity
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to partner with Sales whilst ensuring appropriate balance of risk
- Computer literacy and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
