Breast Cancer Ireland - Race for a Cure!

Porsche Centre Dublin wants to continue supporting Breast Cancer Ireland and the great work they perform this year. To help them generate critically important funds for their cause, we supported their annual “Race for a Cure” at Leopardstown Racecourse.

On Sunday, the 2nd April, 2023, Leopardstown Racecourse hosted Breast Cancer Ireland's "Race for a Cure" Race Day.

Nearly 400 friends and supporters of the Breast Cancer Ireland community came together in person for the first time in more than three years at the sold-out fundraising event, which was ably supported by Porsche Centre Dublin.

The goal of the event was to raise money for vital research, education, and awareness programmes. Over €100,000 was raised at the event to help fundraise for critical research, education and awareness programmes.

Both Aisling Hurley, CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland, and event sponsor Gavin Hydes, CEO of Porsche Centre Dublin, gave brief opening remarks at the event.

Later on in the day, Professor Arnie Hill, Chairman of Breast Cancer Ireland and Professor of Surgery at Beaumont Hospital, gave a thank-you speech in which he provided updates on therapeutic advances for breast cancer and provided grounds for hope.

While Racing TV presenter and tipster Kevin O'Ryan shared his plethora of betting hints and recommendations with discriminating guests anxious to bet carefully, master of ceremonies James Patrice, a longtime ambassador for Breast Cancer Ireland, kept the visitors entertained all day.

There was great excitement later in the day when the winner of an unbelievable Balloon Pop reward was announced. The winner received an ultra-luxury vacation for two complete with flights to Dubai and accommodations at the 5-star Bonnington Hotel on Jumeirah Beach.

Guests also enjoyed entertainment from The Victory Dolls, a trio of female singers who added a touch of vintage flair to the proceedings after a fundraising raffle with prizes guaranteed for each table.

Following a delectable four-course meal, Gavin Hydes and Joanne Mallon of the Ribbon Rouge boutique revealed the winners of the Best Dressed category for the day.

At the entry to the Leopardstown Pavilion, where the event was hosted, a Taycan specially wrapped in the Porsche 75 year Anniversary livery captured guests' attention and left them amazed. Additionally, a magnificent Guards Red 911 Targa 4 was positioned over near the Parade Ring.
