We are thrilled to unveil the new and improved route for the Joe Duffy BMW Clontarf Half Marathon & 5 Mile! Lace up your running shoes and join thousands of others on this journey in Clontarf which starts from the Alfie Byrne Park and up and along the beautiful Clontarf Promenade!

We’ve ensured that the course boasts a low elevation gain (38 meters) and remains on tarmac, making it the perfect terrain for runners to obtain an improved time. The route guarantees our runners the best opportunity to achieve a personal best (PB) while immersing themselves in Clontarf’s beauty. This adjustment allows for a more suitable and faster course, enabling you to enjoy the route more whilst achieving new milestones.

Half Marathoners will leave Alfie Byrne Park at 10am and begin their journey up along the Dublin’s Coast. Runners will travel along Clontarf Road on the promenade and then on the inbound lane of the Howth Road. The route travels past St. Annes Park and on to Sutton, before turning around and working their way back over to Bull Island & down the coast.

5 Mile Runners will begin their journey from Alfie Byrne Road at 10:20am and travel along the Promenade on the Clontarf Road also. They will hit a point at Davis Court where they will turn and head back to the finishing village.
